To diagnose onychomycosis, a small amount of nail clipping is required for fungal culture testing. There are several treatment methods: one is topical antifungal drugs; the other is oral antifungal drugs. The general course of treatment is 6 weeks to 3 months. It should be noted that the drugs may affect liver function, and blood tests are required to monitor liver function during the period; The third is laser treatment to kill the fungus, this method will not damage the nail or the surrounding skin, while stimulating nail growth. Studies have shown that laser treatment combined with topical antifungal drugs is more effective.<\/p>\n
The best way to prevent onychomycosis is to maintain personal hygiene, wash hands frequently and change socks frequently; try to choose breathable shoes and socks to keep feet dry.
