However, most people will treat the adaptive challenge as a technical problem, and they will go all the way to the technology, and finally walk into a dead end.<\/p>\n
For example, in those years, we were promoted, with heavier work and greater responsibilities. Work is longer than life, and time is limited. We can only do more to work hard, or practice time management skills. I hope these "technical adjustments" can solve the problem.<\/p>\n
However, we often overlook that this is likely to be an "adaptive challenge". When promoted to a management position, the position is different and the responsibilities are also different. In the past, we had to deal with affairs, but now we have to manage people. What kind of new mentality and thinking should we use to cope with this new position so that we can handle it with ease?<\/p>\n
For another example, when we want to move to a strange place, many people will keep reading materials, seeing immigration consultants, looking for real estate agents to look for properties, etc., but no matter how much preparation they have done, they are still very disturbed . Because all kinds of actual preparations are just "technical adjustments."<\/p>\n
However, moving to another country is actually an "adaptive challenge". What we really need is not to find information first, but to prepare psychologically for facing the new environment, rebuilding and adapting to the new life.<\/p>\n
Life coaching is such a process of mental preparation. In the process of life coaching, the coach will use high-quality listening and precise questions to accompany the client to explore his inner world, go beyond the technical level, and discover what "adaptive challenges" he is facing.<\/p>\n
When we can perceive the new situation behind this challenge, it is not difficult to find the blind spots in the past, understand that it is not enough to rely on "technology" to respond to certain psychological thresholds, and then start thinking about which old thinking should be let go (unlearn) and start to build ( learn) what kind of new mentality.
