Patients usually feel gastrointestinal discomfort after meals. The gallbladder contracts after eating and squeezes out bile produced by the liver to help digestion. If gallstones block the bile duct, it will cause abdominal pain. When the digestion process is over, the gallbladder no longer shrinks, and the pain disappears, but the disease may recur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patients will feel very painful at the time of onset, but there are also some patients who have had gallstones for many years without symptoms, and they were not discovered until physical examination. If there are no symptoms, and the liver enzymes and bile duct enzymes are normal, generally speaking, the doctor will advise the patient to continue to observe the physical condition, and re-examine with an ultrasound scan once a year to follow up the condition; if symptoms have already appeared, surgical resection should be considered gallstone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the gallbladder is suspended under the liver, the gallstones and liver will move up and down with the breath, and if extracorporeal shock waves are used, the nearby tissues may be damaged. Furthermore, gallstones have a chance to recur, so the most thorough method is to remove the gallbladder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many patients worry that their health will deteriorate after surgery. In fact, the main function of the gallbladder is to store bile, and the liver will produce bile to digest food as usual, so the impact is not great. However, some patients may experience weakened digestion, and bile flowing directly into the digestive tract may irritate the intestinal tract and flow back into the stomach, causing discomfort or diarrhea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the cause of gallstones is unknown, according to clinical data, women, obese people, over 40 years old, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and multiple pregnancies are all high-risk groups. Finally, paying attention to a balanced and healthy diet, with regular and adequate rest, exercise and annual body checks are all ways to prevent gallstones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
