Four major skin conditions that have received significant attention in recent years include eczema, hives, ringworm, and herpes zoster. Early identification of the causes and appropriate treatment options can help prevent recurrence and mitigate potential complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. 4 soothing methods to get rid of eczema<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to statistics, over 500,000 people in Hong Kong currently suffer from moderate to severe eczema. This condition is associated with an abnormal immune system response to specific substances. Allergies are influenced by family history, as well as environmental factors such as food, dust mites, pollen, and pet dander. These symptoms include itching, dryness, and rashes. In severe cases, skin oozing, scabs, or thickening may occur, and recurring episodes are possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To reduce the recurrence of eczema, you can refer to the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhance moisturizing: Choose a mild, fragrance-free moisturizer and apply it repeatedly every day, especially as soon as possible after bathing to lock in skin moisture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid allergens: Identify and avoid substances that may trigger your eczema.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gentle cleansing: Use mild cleansing products and avoid bathing in excessively hot water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage stress: Stress can trigger or worsen eczema.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Histamine intolerance triggers urticaria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you experience a sudden, itchy, swollen, red rash that then resolves on its own? It could be urticaria (commonly known as hives)! This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including bacterial or viral infections, food, medications, insect bites, environmental irritants (such as cold, heat, and pollen), and may also be associated with histamine intolerance. Most cases are short-lived acute urticaria, but symptoms lasting more than six weeks are considered chronic urticaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For acute urticaria, doctors usually prescribe antihistamines to relieve the itching and rash. However, for more severe urticaria, patients may need epinephrine or steroid injections, or immunosuppressants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, if hives recur and the cause remains unidentified, you can first avoid four types of high-histamine foods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alcohol<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>processed meat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>preserved or canned fish<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fermented foods<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Fungal infection causing skin ringworm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Summer&#039;s frequent rain and humidity can not only trigger eczema but also foster fungal growth, leading to the contagious skin condition ringworm. People who sweat frequently, frequently work outdoors, and have weakened immune systems are at higher risk! Patients typically experience round or oval, clearly defined, dandruff patches in varying shades of dark and light, accompanied by intense itching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since tinea pedis is contagious, if not treated promptly, it can spread to other parts of the body, causing tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis (athlete&#039;s foot), etc. If tinea pedis is diagnosed, patients should take prescribed topical or oral antifungal medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tinea dermatitis treatment is long, and patients need to be patient and follow the doctor&#039;s instructions to continue taking medication. They should also develop good personal hygiene habits to reduce the chance of tinea dermatitis recurring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep your body dry by wearing dry, ventilated shoes and clean, sweat-absorbent cotton socks; socks, clothes and bath towels should be washed and changed every day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid tight or form-fitting underwear, and choose cotton clothing that wicks away sweat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not share clothes, shoes, socks, towels and personal items such as combs, hair accessories, hats and pillows with others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must wash your hands after touching the affected area to prevent ringworm from spreading to other parts of the body.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diabetic patients should pay extra attention to their skin condition and take proper care, especially of their feet, to reduce the chances of infection with athlete&#039;s foot and onychomycosis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Shingles Needle Rejuvenation Treatment Reduces Post-Shingles Pain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you develop a rash or blisters that appear like bands and cause stinging or burning sensations on your skin, be aware that you may be infected with the varicella-zoster virus (shingles). Shingles are caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which can become dormant in the nerve ganglia of people who have previously had chickenpox. When immunity weakens, the virus can reactivate and cause shingles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patients should seek medical attention within 72 hours of onset of illness. Therefore, it is important to strengthen immunity. High-risk individuals should consider getting the shingles vaccine (commonly known as the herpes zoster shot) to reduce the chance of infection and postherpetic neuralgia.
