Retired Mrs. Liu recently underwent gynecological surgery. During a follow-up visit, the doctor reminded her to carefully care for the wound and avoid heavy lifting to prevent it from rupturing. I've noticed that many women don't exercise in their daily lives and frequently lift heavy objects, which can lead to gynecological problems in the long term, including damage to the pelvic floor muscles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The pelvic floor muscles are the weakest muscles at the base of the pelvis. Like a flexible "hammock," they support the uterus, bladder, vagina, and rectum. Whenever a woman lifts something heavy, coughs violently, or strains to defecate, her abdominal muscles contract and exert pressure on the pelvic floor muscles. If this pressure persists, the pelvic floor muscles can become lax and lose their support. In severe cases, this can lead to pelvic organ prolapse (also known as uterine prolapse).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women who worked as cleaners or movers were more likely to experience uterine prolapse. Even Mrs. Liu, a full-time housewife, had to help raise her grandchildren while also managing daily necessities. Her hands were constantly laden with heavy objects, which not only strained her waist but also placed chronic pressure on her abdomen. With aging, her pelvic floor muscles gradually weakened, and coupled with Mrs. Liu's lack of daily exercise, the muscles lost their support, leading to uterine prolapse. Her biggest concern was the embarrassing involuntary leakage of urine whenever she sneezed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to menopausal women and those recovering from gynecological surgery, postpartum mothers should also be more vigilant, because the weight of the pregnancy, the expansion and loss of pelvic floor muscles during childbirth, and lifting heavy objects too early may affect postpartum recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To strengthen the support of the pelvic floor muscles in the early postpartum period, women should gradually increase their exercise intensity and avoid strenuous exercise too early to avoid further trauma to the pelvic tissue that has not yet recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for how to maintain your health, in addition to learning correct posture and using tools to lift heavy objects, you should also regularly perform pelvic floor muscle exercises. Constipation is also a potential cause of pelvic floor muscle pressure. Maintaining a high-fiber diet and drinking plenty of water can improve bowel movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nowadays, many girls are popular with self-taught weight training. It is recommended that they should learn the correct force techniques from professional coaches to avoid excessive or incorrect pressure on the abdomen that may cause injury.
